ARTICLE I: NAME
- The name of this Corporation shall be Timpanogos Archers, Inc. Timpanogos Archers may also be referred to as “Timp Archers”, “The Club” or “The Organization” in this text.
ARTICLE II: PURPOSE
- The purpose of this Organization shall be:
- To perpetuate, foster, and direct the practice of archery;
- To encourage the use of a bow in hunting all legal game;
- To promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its members, and to encourage, foster and maintain true sportsmanship among them;
- To conduct an Archery Club.
ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP
- Active membership shall be granted to anyone who qualifies in accordance with Sections I and II of the By-Laws of the Organization and upon payment of annual membership dues.
- Membership may be denied, revoked, or temporarily suspended, to any individual who is not in good standing in accordance with Section II of the By-Laws, who has committed a serious offense against the Club, and who has been voted on by a quorum of the Club body, as outlined within the By-Laws.
ARTICLE IV: BOARD OF DIRECTORS
- The Executive Board of Directors herein referred to as “The Board of Directors” or “The Board” shall consist of the Club Officers, namely: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Range Captain.
- The Board of Directors shall hold regular Club meetings for the purpose of managing Club activities, policies, memberships, and property of the Organization.
- All decisions pertaining to the management of Club activities, policies, memberships, and Club property shall be voted on and approved by a majority vote of a voting quorum during a club meeting.
Voting Quorum Requirements:
A voting quorum consists of at least ten voting members that meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of three members of the Board of Directors,
- Two Lifetime members in good standing who are not current club officers,
- All other present members in good standing shall be included in the vote. (A minimum of at least five additional members not included above in paragraphs i and ii will be required to have a valid voting quorum.)
If, at any Club meeting a voting quorum as stated above is not present, voting on official Club decisions shall be postponed until a Club meeting at which a quorum is present.
- All vacancies of the Board shall be voted on by the Club body during a regular meeting. The Board of Directors may temporarily appoint someone to fill a vacancy until a vote can be taken during the next Club meeting.
ARTICLE V: ELECTION AND TERM OF OFFICE
- Club Officers shall be elected annually by a majority vote of all present members in good standing at the Annual Club Meeting in November, which takes place as part of the Annual Banquet. This meeting may also be designated as the Annual Board of Directors meeting.
- The term of office for each officer shall be for (1) one year and until his/her successor is elected.
- The new Officers shall take office January 1st after election at the Annual Meeting.
- Members who wish to be considered for open Officer positions the following year must notify any current Officer of their interest by the start of November.
- Club Officers, after serving three consecutive terms, may be eligible to receive a Lifetime Membership at the conclusion of their third term. Nominations to receive a Lifetime Membership shall be sponsored by at least two current Lifetime Members in good standing and shall be granted by a majority vote of the present members in good standing at the Annual Meeting.
- Club Officers’ duties and responsibilities are outlined in Section IV of the By-Laws.
ARTICLE VI: FISCAL / MEMBERSHIP YEAR
- The fiscal and membership year of the Timp Archers Club shall begin annually on April 1 of each year and shall run through March 31 of the following year.

BY-LAWS OF TIMPANOGOS ARCHERS, INC
SECTION I: MEMBERSHIP
- All memberships are considered family memberships and are defined as head of household, spouse, and all dependent children up to 21 years of age, whether or not living within the same household. Voting privileges are granted to all members 18 years and older with the status of “member in good standing.”
- Membership shall be granted to anyone who qualifies in accordance with this Section and Section II, and upon payment of regular annual fees. Membership types include:
- Regular Membership: Granted to individuals of at least 18 years of age. Regular memberships shall be either a working membership or a non-working membership.
- Working Memberships: Available for individuals who meet the requirements of the application process, who pay the required Club working membership fees, and who agree to provide service to the Club in accordance with Section II.3 of the By-Laws.
- Non-working Memberships: Granted to individuals who meet the application requirements and who pay the non-working Club fee rate as outlined in Section II.4 of the By-Laws.
- Senior Membership: Granted to an individual of at least 70 years of age who meets the requirements of the application process and who pays the required fee per Section II.2.B. A senior membership shall be considered a non-working membership.
- Youth Membership: Granted to any individual between the ages of 12 to 17 years old whose parents or guardian are not members of the club. In order for a youth membership to be granted the Youth must qualify under the terms of the membership application, pay the youth membership fees, and shall have the membership application / liability waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
- Lifetime Membership: Granted to individuals who have met the requirements of becoming a Lifetime Member per Section II.5. Lifetime memberships are considered to be regular working memberships as defined above in part 2.A. of this Section and are subject to the same work hours as required per Section II.3.B. Lifetime Members who have reached the age of 70 will be considered Senior Lifetime Members and will be considered a non-working member as indicated in part 2.B above.
- Regular Membership: Granted to individuals of at least 18 years of age. Regular memberships shall be either a working membership or a non-working membership.
- Timpanogos Archery Club reserves the right to deny, temporarily suspend, or terminate any regular or Lifetime Membership due to any serious infraction of the Club rules and By-Laws, damage or theft of Club property, or injury, harassment, or assault of fellow members. Termination should only be discussed if the Club has proof beyond reasonable doubt that a member should no longer be part of Timpanogos Archers Club.
- The intent to take action to deny, suspend or terminate a Club membership shall be made known to all affected parties.
- Parties shall have a minimum of two weeks’ notice prior to any Club meeting where action is to be discussed.
- During the meeting evidence and arguments may be presented by both parties either in person or in writing.
- The decision shall be determined by a majority vote of the voting quorum (as defined in Article IV.3.1 of the Club Constitution) at the Club meeting.
SECTION II: APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
1. Requirements
- Members shall receive a copy of the Constitution and By-Laws and shall agree to abide by the contents and Club rules therein. Completion of the application processes signifies agreement to these rules.
- Members must annually submit a properly completed and signed application including: contact information (name, address, telephone, and email), and names of family members that will be included with the membership.
- Members, at the time of submitting the application, shall make payment in full of applicable annual Club fees.
- Applications for Youth memberships shall be signed by a parent or guardian.
2. Membership Fees
- Annual Membership Fees: Fee for working and non-working memberships, as well as additional fees for “members not in good standing” shall be proposed each year by the Board of Directors and shall be ratified by a majority vote of members present at the Annual Meeting.
- Senior Members (age 70+): Non-lifetime Senior members will be charged $50.00 annually, and will be considered non-working members. A Lifetime member aged 70 and above will be charged either the working Lifetime rate per paragraph D below or the Senior rate, whichever is less, and shall be considered a non-working member.
- Youth Membership Fees: Shall be set at $20 annually. Youths will not receive a UAA membership paid by the Club and do not have voting rights.
- Lifetime Membership Annual Fees: Shall be set based on the cost of UAA membership fees plus any additional Club fees as approved by the Club. The Club may choose to set a different rate for working and non-working Lifetime members as proposed by the Board of Directors and as approved by the majority vote as outlined above in paragraph A.
- Fines or Additional Fees for Members Not in Good Standing:
- Members who did not complete their membership work agreement, having failed to fulfill their agreed upon work hours shall be determined to be a “member not in good standing”.
- “Members not in good standing” who wish to renew their membership shall be required to pay an additional fee. The additional fee may be determined by calculating the hourly value of work hours compared to the current annual cost of a non-working membership, or it may be calculated by other means as determined by the board of directors and as approved per paragraph A of this section.
- “Members not in good standing” who fail to renew annually for a period of three consecutive years or more, shall then be considered new members upon registration and shall revert back to the new member rate for the current year.
- Membership in Trade: Shall be offered to individuals, companies, groups, or organizations that provide either goods or services to the Club in the value of a non-working annual membership. Such goods and services would include donations such as: raffle prizes, awards, etc.; supplies such as lumber, fuel, target wrap, etc.; services such as printing, graphic design etc.; and other trade items as determined by the Board of Directors. All memberships in trade shall be approved by the majority of the Board of Directors. For each membership in trade, one annual non-working membership shall be provided, including one gate key for the use of the company, group, or organization. Multiple keys may be provided to an entity based on additional donations of goods/services equivalent to an additional non-working membership rate. Exceptions shall be approved by a majority vote of members present during a regular Club meeting.
- Membership of Club Officers: Annual Club fees shall be paid in full by the Club for the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Range Captain for their current term of office.
3. Working Memberships
- Working memberships shall be accepted April 1 to June 30 of each year.
- Working membership fees shall be approved annually per Section II.2.A.
- Working memberships shall require a minimum of 10 hours of service for the benefit of the Club. Families with shooting members 14 years and older shall serve an additional 8 hours for each active member of the family. (Active shall be defined as shooting more than 1 time per month).
- Work hour obligations may be completed in any of the following ways or in a combination of the following ways:
- Range maintenance and upkeep.
- Working at a Club shoot or tournament, including set-up and teardown of the shoot.
- Assisting with Club leagues.
- Providing any service beneficial to the Club as pre-approved by the Board.
- Working members shall each choose a target from one of the five courses to maintain as part of their work agreement.
- Field course targets shall be maintained with four (4) shooting lanes per target and include the path leading to the next target.
- 3-D courses shall be maintained to include a shooting lane and the path to the next target.
- Members shall record their chosen target in the pavilion at the time of annual registration.
- Service hours must be verified / authorized by a Club Officer.
- Work hour slips are available in the pavilion. Completed slips shall be placed in the locked work hours box. Slips shall be collected and recorded by the Club Secretary.
4. Non-Working Memberships
- Non-Working memberships shall be available for purchase annually starting April 1, and shall remain available throughout the year, at the higher non-working rate. The fee for a non-working membership shall not be prorated, regardless of the time of year. The membership year for non-working members is the same as the Club’s operating year as defined in Article VI of the Constitution.
- Non-working members are absolved of all working requirements and shall be eligible for all benefits extended for members of the Club with the status of “member in good standing.”
5. Lifetime Membership
- Original Lifetime Memberships: Were offered prior to January 1, 1975. Original Lifetime memberships are transferable one time only.
- Lifetime Memberships Available Ways:
- A working Lifetime membership may be purchased at a rate of 10X the current annual regular working membership fees.
- A working Lifetime membership may be earned through service to the Club in accordance with Article V.5 of the Constitution.
- A Lifetime membership may be petitioned by the Club to be awarded as gratuity for outstanding service and/or donation that results in immeasurable benefit to the Club.
- A Lifetime member in good standing may purchase additional lifetime memberships for their children as listed below in part 5 paragraph F of this section.
- Minimum Requirements to Receive a Lifetime Membership: Members interested in receiving a Lifetime membership shall meet ALL of the following criteria:
- They must be a current Club member for a minimum of one year.
- They must be in good standing, having met their applicable work agreement, and having participated in Club meetings on a regular basis.
- They must receive sponsorship from two current Lifetime members also in good standing in the Club.
- All Lifetime memberships shall be voted on and must be approved by a 2/3 majority vote of the members present at a monthly Club meeting.
- Denial of Lifetime Membership: The Club reserves the right to deny the request to issue a Lifetime membership to any individual, for any reason, based on the vote of the quorum.
- Rights of Lifetime Members: All Lifetime memberships shall be considered, regular working family memberships, regardless of marital status at the time of purchase. In the event a Lifetime member marries, the spouse and all dependent children shall be incorporated under the Lifetime membership.
- Family Provisions:
- Dependent children of Lifetime members shall be defined as per Club rules under Section I paragraph 1. Dependent and non-dependent children of a Lifetime member in good standing with the Organization may purchase a Lifetime membership from the Club in the amount of $250. Prior to the issuance of a Lifetime Membership the requirements of part 5 paragraph C of this section shall be met.
- In the event of divorce the Lifetime member must declare in whose name the membership resides. The spouse that is left out of the Lifetime membership shall have the option to purchase a new Lifetime membership from the Club in the amount of $250, the current annual regular working membership fee. Family and dependent children acquired by remarriage shall be incorporated under the Lifetime membership. Dependent children from divorce shall retain the umbrella of the Lifetime membership and the rights of purchase of a Lifetime membership from the Club in the amount of $250. Prior to the issuance of a Lifetime Membership the requirements of part 5 paragraph C of this section shall be met.
- In the event of death of the Lifetime member, the surviving spouse and family shall retain the Lifetime membership with all benefits contained in this Section.
- Non-Transferable: Lifetime memberships purchased or granted by gratuity by the Club post-1974 are not transferable at any time.
- Service Hours: Service hours shall apply to Lifetime members as per the By-Laws, Section II.3.B.
- UAA Membership: Membership to the Utah Archery Association (UAA) shall be paid annually by the club, for all Lifetime Members who are current, on their annual membership fees.
- Certificates: A certificate suitable for framing shall be furnished to all Lifetime members by the Secretary. Replacement certificates may be obtained if necessary for a small fee to cover the cost of printing.
6. Exception to Service Hours
- Members may apply for an exception to completing required service hours to the Board of Directors in person, via telephone, email or at any regular Club meeting. Exemptions may be granted due to health and/or temporary special circumstance by consensus of the Board of Directors. All applications for exception shall be approved and acted upon before the end of the membership year.
SECTION III: MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES AND BENEFITS
1. Member Responsibilities
- Club Meeting Attendance: All members regardless of membership type should try to attend all monthly club meetings.
- Raffle Prize Donation: Each member shall be required to donate at least one raffle prize of a value greater than $20.00 to at least one Club shoot raffle per year.
- Service Hours for Working Members: Working members shall complete the required service hours according to section II.3.B, as applicable.
2. Member Benefits
- Club membership includes membership to the Utah Archery Association (UAA). Dues for UAA memberships shall be paid by the Club on behalf of Club members, unless members are also lifetime members of the UAA or as otherwise indicated.
- Club members receive half-price entry fees to all Club Shoots (except State or National sponsored events).
- Club members receive discounted weekly League fees for both 3-D and field leagues.
- Gate Key:
- Each club membership shall be issued a current year gate key to gain access to the range property and amenities.
- Keys remain the property of the club and shall be returned annually.
- Keys may not be loaned out or transferred as directed in section XIII.1.O.
- Replacement or additional keys may be provided for a fee of $15 each.
- Full voting privileges at all Club meetings unless otherwise stated.
SECTION IV: OFFICERS AND DUTIES THEREOF
- Board of Directors: The Board of Directors shall consist of the Club Officers, namely: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Range Captain, as specified in Article IV of the Constitution. All actions performed by the Board of Directors on behalf of the Club shall be in accordance with the Club Constitution, By-Laws and in the best interest of the Club as a whole.
- The President shall:
- Preside over all Club meetings and oversee the successful completion of all club functions.
- Coordinate and direct the duties of other club officers.
- Coordinate, preside over and be present for public shoots.
- Be the public face of and primary contact person for the Club.
- Contact donors and coordinate donation to the club.
- Represent the Club at UAA meeting and functions.
- Delegate as needed and appoint individuals to act for and on behalf of the Club.
- Perform all other duties of his or her office as outlined in the Club Officers’ Roles and Responsibilities Handbook.
- The Vice President shall:
- Be familiar with all Presidential responsibilities and functions.
- Assist and support the President with all his or her duties as delegated by the president.
- Be prepared and able to perform the duties of the President if he or she is unable to act.
- Represent the club at shoots and other club functions when the president is unable to attend.
- Conduct club meetings in the President’s absence.
- Be an alternate representative to the UAA.
- Assist in the collection of donations, and in contacting sponsors.
- Assist other club officers as needed.
- Perform all other duties of his or her office as outlined in the Club Officers’ Roles and Responsibilities Handbook.
- The Secretary shall:
- Document all Club business, such as: taking minutes of Club meetings, tracking, and recording all memberships, document work hours, maintaining copies of the Constitution, and By-Laws, and the Club Officers’ Roles and Responsibilities Handbook, and keeping all other records as they pertain to the Club, except for financial records kept by the Treasurer, and Club histories if a Club Historian has been selected.
- Be responsible for regularly communicating all necessary Club business with Club members and the public via email, web page, and social media. Website and social media responsibilities may be delegated or shared with Club members who are proficient with these platforms.
- Be responsible for all supplies necessary for the registration and scoring of shoots and Leagues.
- Maintain inventory of Club merchandise for sale and shall provide for the sale thereof during Club shoots and activities.
- Be responsible for the ordering of new Club badges for the coming year.
- Maintain the Secretary supply box and all documents as provided from the Club. Such supplies and records shall be open to the Board for inspection at any time.
- Assist all other Board members as needed.
- Perform all other duties of his or her office as outlined in the Club Officers’ Roles and Responsibilities Handbook.
- The Treasurer shall:
- Be a person of upstanding moral judgment who preferably has experience managing and maintaining financial accounts.
- Be given access to the Club’s financial records and accounts, having charge of Club cash, account books, and other valuable papers of the Organization. Said books and accounts shall be available at all times to the inspection of the Board of Directors.
- Monitor club finances and maintain club accounts. The club shall maintain two accounts with a local banking institution:
- A general working fund (checking) account and
- A general savings account.
- The accounts shall be opened in the name of the Organization and the people with access to the account shall be updated annually to include the current Board of Directors.
- All expenditures by the Club in excess of $500 must be approved in advance by members of the Board. Any checks written against said accounts shall be signed by the Secretary, Treasurer, or as designated by the Board of Directors.
- As determined by the Board of Directors excess funds in the checking account shall be transferred to the club savings account.
- Verify all purchases.
- Pay annual UAA fees in conjunction with membership records received from the secretary.
- Pay out winnings to winners of shooting competitions.
- Otherwise assist the Club by paying Club related bills and charges such as venue fees, insurance premiums, service fees and other costs requiring funds from the Club.
- Provide a quarterly accounting to the Board of Directors of financial statements showing the condition of the Organization, including account balances, funds available, expenditure summaries, and upcoming bills.
- Assist other Board members as required and,
- Perform all other duties of his or her office as outlined in the Club Officers’ Roles and Responsibilities Handbook.
- The Range Captain shall:
- Have responsibility for the maintenance of the range, namely upkeep of targets, target faces, trails, and 3D targets.
- Identify needed range maintenance and communicate that need to club members by updating the tasks list located in the pavilion.
- All members may add to the list of jobs needing to be completed.
- Members needing work hours may complete tasks on the list, to complete their work agreement as per section II.3.
- The range captain or other members of the board are responsible to verify the completion of tasks and update the list.
- Discuss range projects and needed work assignments during club meetings.
- Maintain an inventory of the number, type, and condition of all 3D targets and an inventory of the supplies needed to make field targets for Shoots and Leagues.
- Purchase, or organize the purchase of, replacement supplies as needed, with the approval of the Board.
- Shall direct the work during range work parties.
- Shall assist all other Board members as required.
- Perform all other duties of his or her office as outlined in the Club Officers’ Roles and Responsibilities Handbook.
- Absence of Officers: In the event the Club has no serving President or Vice President, the Club shall be run by a committee of the Lifetime Members until such time as the position of President and Vice President may be filled. A special meeting to vote for new Officers may be set by the committee to allow the members an opportunity to vote for qualified candidates.
- Meetings conducted by a committee of Lifetime Members shall be presided by the most recent past President or Vice President in attendance.
SECTION V: ELECTIONS AND VOTING PROCEDURES
- Elections of all Officers shall be by secret ballot and shall take place as provided by Article V of the Constitution. Nominations will be prior to the elections. In the event that only one person is nominated or has accepted the nomination, voting may be conducted either by secret ballot or by simple raising of hands. Officers shall be elected by a simple majority vote.
- Voting at Club meetings shall be by the raising of hands, unless otherwise requested by a member. Any member present may request that a vote be conducted by secret ballot or by other means. If this request is supported by additional members, the vote will then be held by this method.
SECTION VI: AMENDMENTS, ADDITIONS AND WORKING RESOLUTIONS
1. Amendments and Additions to The Constitution or By-Laws
- Proposed changes or additions to the Club Constitution or By-Laws must be submitted to the board of directors, containing the Article or Section number being referred to and must contain pertinent and constructive wording for which change is being requested.
- Prior to voting on amendments or additions pertaining to the Constitution and By-Laws, proposed changes shall be provided to each Club member via email. Sufficient time shall be given for members to review and provide comment, prior to the vote.
- Passage of proposed amendments or additions to the Club Constitution and By-Laws shall require a 2/3 majority vote of all members in good standing present at the Annual Meeting.
2. Working Resolutions
- A working resolution is a temporary change to the Club Constitution or By-Laws and is intended to allow the club to react to emergent issues and address immediate concerns of the club.
- Resolutions must be submitted at the monthly Club meeting in writing and may be adopted as a working resolution with a majority vote of the members present.
- Resolutions adopted as a working resolution shall be recognized through the remainder of the year until action may be taken at the Annual Meeting.
- At the Annual Meeting the resolution shall be presented to the membership and voted on as per Section VI. If the working resolution passes, the changes shall be adopted into the Constitution and By-Laws.
- The Club Secretary shall be responsible for updating the Constitution and Bylaws, and to provide updated copies for the use of members.
SECTION VII: DELEGATES TO THE UTAH ARCHERY ASSOCIATION
- The current President of Timpanogos Archers shall be an automatic delegate to the annual Utah Archery Association convention, and any other UAA meetings that may affect the operation of the club.
- If the President is unable to attend a UAA meeting, the vice president shall be the automatic alternate and shall attend in place of the president.
- Delegates and additional alternates shall be appointed as needed by the Board of Directors.
SECTION VIII: CLUB COMMITTEES
- Committees may be formed as directed by the Board of Directors to fulfill specific roles and responsibilities within the Club as needed. Examples of such committees may include: Constitution and By-Laws revision committee, Financial auditing committee, Club Shoot planning committee, Smoker round planning committee, Annual Banquet committee, Summer League picnic committee, specific work projects committees or other committees as needed.
- Committees may be formal, having a committee chair and holding regular meetings, or informal, meeting as a group or discussing items via telephone, email, text, or other methods.
SECTION IX: COLORS AND EMBLEM
- The club colors shall be green and white.
- The club shirts shall have uniform lettering and shall conform to the Club approved regulations.
- Official Emblem: The official emblem of Timp Archers is the traditional arrowhead with the tip pointing down.
- The Timp Archers emblem, also referred to as the logo, is a trademarked emblem.
- Use of the emblem is restricted to the Timpanogos Archery Club, including: its property, merchandise, fliers, email, web site, social media platforms and other forms of advertisement.
- Anyone wishing to use the emblem shall be required to complete a trademark agreement prior to use, or replication.
- Member Badges: Badges shall be ordered annually for each member by the Club Secretary. Each badge shall measure 1 ¾ Inches in diameter and have the Timp Archers emblem on it. The color of the badge shall be of a different color for successive years, which shall be determined annually by majority vote at a monthly Club meeting held early in the year.
SECTION X: SPECIAL AWARDS
- Service Award: A top service award may be given annually for outstanding service to the Club to a member other than an elected Officer of the Club, to be selected by the Board of Directors. Club members may nominate someone for the award to the Board stating pertinent facts and reasons for the recommendation. This award shall be handed out at the Annual Meeting.
- Other Awards: May be given out as deemed appropriate by the Board Directors or as voted on by members during monthly club meetings. Awards shall be presented at the Annual Meeting.
SECTION XI: CLUB MEETINGS
- Club business meetings shall be held each month within the first 15 days of said month, typically the second Tuesday of each month. Monthly Club meetings scheduled to occur after a Club shoot or activity but within the same month shall be moved up to occur during the week, prior to the event.
- Club meetings shall be held to discuss Club business including: planning of upcoming events, discussing Club expenditures, hearing Club financial reports, discussing range maintenance items, discussing UAA and NFAA policy changes, and other topics of interest within the Club or archery community. These meetings are intended to direct the overall operation of the Club and to make a report and accounting to Club members.
- All Club meeting votes require a minimum quorum as specified in Article IV.3 of the Constitution.
- Unless otherwise specified within this document, voting results shall be based on a simple majority vote.
- The November Meeting shall be designated as the Annual Club Meeting and shall take place as part of the Annual Banquet.
- The December meeting shall be canceled unless circumstances otherwise dictate.
SECTION XII: ANNUAL EVENTS
1. Leagues
A. 3-D League
The Club shall hold an annual Summer 3-D League beginning within the first 15 days of May, running for twelve weeks, on the weekday and time as determined by the Board of Directors and as approved by the Club.
- The league may be 4-person teams.
- Awards shall be given as determined by the Range Captain or League Manager and as approved by the Club.
- Members and non-members are allowed to participate.
- League fees shall be determined by the Club no later than the April Club meeting and shall be published accordingly.
- A registration fee shall be charged to all participants.
- A weekly participation fee shall be charged for non-members with Club members paying a rate of one half of that fee.
B. Field League
The Club shall hold an annual Summer Field League beginning within the first 15 days of May, running for 12 weeks, on the weekday and time, determined by the Board of Directors and as approved by the Club.
- The league may be 2-person teams.

2. Club Shoots and Prize Raffles
- Each year the Club shall hold shooting events that are open to both members and the public.
- The number and types of shoots to be held within a given year shall be proposed each year and shall be voted on at a Club meeting held early in the year.
- The date for each shoot shall be proposed by the Club membership and then determined at the annual UAA convention.
- Some shoots shall be designated as both competitive and non-competitive events. Competitive events shall follow the rules and regulations as set forth by the UAA, the NFAA, or as determined by the Club prior to the event.
- Competitive shooters shall be charged a shoot fee and an additional competition fee. Prizes shall be awarded out of the competition fee pool.
- Award payouts shall follow the published award payout criteria.
- Prize raffles may be included during club shoots, which shall be determined ahead of time by the Club membership.
- Each member is required to donate a raffle prize annually as indicated in Section III.1.B of the By-Laws.
- Raffle tickets shall be sold during the shoot and prizes shall be awarded to winning individuals.
- Other shoot activities may include a smoker round, a long shot, a timed shoot-off or other types of events or activities.
- Proceeds from one or more of these events may be donated to a charitable organization as determined by the Club. Suggestions for events may be submitted by any member. Suggestions of donations to charitable groups may be made by any member and shall be voted on at the Club meetings.
- At the discretion of the Board of Directors, a shoot committee may be formed to assist with the planning and execution of a shoot or shoots.
- This committee will be made up of volunteer Club members, with one member being appointed by the Board of Directors as committee chair. Committees shall be responsible for organizing the preparation, operation, and cleanup of the assigned shoot or shoots.
- The President shall ensure that the site for each event not held at the Timpanogos Archery range is secured in a timely fashion and within the approved budget set by the Board of Directors and approved by the majority vote at the Club meeting.
- Possible Club Shoots include:
- The Icebreaker Shoot: Typically held during the last two weekends of April or the first weekend in May.
- The Bowhunter Rendezvous: Typically held during the summer months. This may be held at the range or at another location as determined by the Club.
- The Halloween Shoot: Typically held within the first 2 weekends of October, on a Friday and Saturday night.
- The Spring Fling: Typically held the second weekend in March at an indoor venue.
- The State Field Shoot: Typically held in early June. This shoot shall follow UAA State Field regulations and shall be held in accordance with the most current NFAA Field rules with equipment in compliance with NFAA and UAA recognized equipment rules.
3. Annual League BBQ / Picnic
- A Club-sponsored dinner, usually free to all members and their families, as well as non-members who participated in the outdoor leagues and guests.
- The format shall be a potluck picnic or barbecue followed with the awards presentation for the summer Leagues. This event is held at the conclusion of the Leagues.
4. Annual Banquet
- The Annual Banquet is a dinner meeting typically held in early to mid-November and includes our Annual Club Meeting as specified in Article V of the Constitution.
- The location and cost per person of this dinner shall be determined in advance in a regular monthly meeting.
- Club business shall be conducted as needed at this Annual Meeting including:
- Voting in of the following year’s Officers,
- Voting on annual Club fees,
- Voting on Constitution and By-Laws amendments and changes,
- Presentation of any special awards, and
- Any other business called out in the By-Laws or as determined by the current Board of Directors.
SECTION XIII: RANGE RULES
- All field courses, 3-D courses, practice ranges, the pavilion, barbecue grills, picnic areas, fire pit, camping areas, playground, sandbox areas, and all other areas at the Timpanogos archery range, including all supplies and equipment stored at the range or otherwise belonging to the Timp Archers club are restricted in use to Timp Archers Club Members and their guests only. Exceptions to this rule include league nights, club shoots, other events as voted on by the club, where the range will be open to the public.
- Visiting archers may shoot the practice range and/or course(s) only when accompanied by a Club member.
- Timpanogos Archers club is not liable for accidents or injuries associated with the use of the range or the properties. The Club is not responsible for injuries related to the inherent risks associated with archery or use of archery equipment.
- All members must sign a liability waiver each year during the annual registration process.
- All non-club members participating in a league or public shooting event shall be required to sign in prior to participating in the event.
- By signing in, non-club members are accepting the range rules and agreeing to the waiver of liability. The waiver shall remain valid throughout the duration of the league or event and shall remain on file with the Club Secretary.
- Individuals who fail to sign in, may be asked to stop all activities until the sign-in process is completed.
- All garbage, cans, and refuse must be placed in a garbage container.
- Brush shall be trimmed away from the range pavilion and all targets. Care should be taken, and every effort made to preserve maple trees and pine trees on the course(s) and throughout the range.
- Fire Safety:
- No fires shall be built on range property except in an approved and provided fire ring/bowl.
- No fires shall be started anywhere on the field courses under any circumstances.
- All fires shall be put out completely with water before leaving the premises.
- Fires shall not be built anywhere on the range during periods of Forest Service fire restrictions.
- No smoking or alcohol is allowed on the range except within the picnic and parking lot areas. Cigarette butts once extinguished shall be placed in the trash.
- Use of fireworks on the range is strictly prohibited.
- No live game shall be shot on the range.
- Always leave one member of your party in front of the target while looking for lost arrows as a warning to others following on the course. If you are alone, leave your bow in front of the target.
- Never walk backwards on the courses or cut across courses.
- Never release an arrow when you cannot see where it will land. Never “flight shoot” an arrow and never shoot straight up.
- High drawing is prohibited.
- Broadheads shall not be shot at field targets and are restricted to special broadhead targets which may be so designated.
- Keys for the range are not transferable and a member may forfeit their right to a range key upon lending it to a non-member.
- Non-members will be charged a fee of $10.00 per person to shoot the range unless they are a first-time guest of a Timp Archery Club member.
- Protect your sport by being careful and sure what you are shooting at.
- The club reserves the right to ask both members and non-members to leave the range property for actions that constitute a failure to follow club rules.
